- The price of Bitcoin hit a new all-time high of $111,980 on Bitcoin Pizza Day. On May 22, 2010 an early Bitcoin developer paid for 2 pizzas with 10,000 BTC, worth $1.1 billion today. Link. Link

- Bitcoin spot ETFs saw inflows of $2.5 billion this week. BlackRock’s IBIT ETF received $877 million on Thursday, making it the largest single day inflow of any ETF in history. Link

- SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce said NFTs that allow artists to earn resale revenue do not automatically qualify as securities. Link

- Jack Dorsey endorsed Bitcoin upgrade BIP 177, which would redefine Bitcoin’s base unit from 100,000,000 “sats” (short for “satoshis”) to “bitcoin”. Link. BIP 177.

- USDC stablecoin issuer Circle is reportedly courting sales bids from Ripple and Coinbase for at least $5 billion. Link. Circle filed for an IPO in April. Link

- The SEC Delayed a decision to approve several spot Solana ETFs. Link

- DeFi lending protocol Aave now has $30 billion locked on the protocol, up 50% from its YTD low of $20 billion. Aave is the second-largest DeFi app by TVL. Link

- The Senate voted 66-32 to end the Democrats filibuster of the GENIUS Act stablecoin legislation. The bill is expected to be voted on soon. Link. Link

- Crypto exchange Kraken plans to launch tokenized stock trading of popular stocks like Apple and Tesla for non-US customers. Link. Announcement

- Digital identity protocol World, formerly known as Worldcoin, sold $135 million WLD tokens to venture capital firms a16z and Bain Capital. Link

- Coinbase disclosed that personal data from 69,461 individuals was compromised in a December 2024 breach, which eventually led to a ransom demand of $20 million. Compromised data included user social security numbers, names, email addresses, and account balances. Link

- Bitcoin transaction fees increased by about $1 since the start of May, hitting a 2025 high of $2.40. Link

- Ethereum spot ETFs saw $205 million worth of inflows, up from $1.5 million the week before. Link

- Layer-1 Sui’s largest decentralized exchange, Cetus Protocol, was exploited for $223 million causing many liquidity pools to be drained and token prices on the chain to fall. Link. Link

- Privacy-focused web browser Brave released the “.brave” domain in partnership with Unstoppable Domains. These domains can be hosted as decentralized websites on IPFS. Link

- DeFi protocol Bancor filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Uniswap Labs and Uniswap Foundation, accusing them of stealing the mechanism to power permissionless onchain trades through smart contracts. Link

- NYC Mayor Eric Adams plans to create a digital assets advisory council for New York City. Link

- Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) introduced the “Stop TRUMP in Crypto Act of 2025” act, which would prevent the president, vice president, members of Congress, and their immediate family members from launching or owning their own crypto assets while in office. Link. Link

- The majority of $TRUMP token holders who earned VIP status for an exclusive dinner with the President, no longer hold their tokens. 8 of the top 25 VIPs hold a balance of TRUMP, with the bulk of addresses having transferred tokens to centralized exchanges just days after the May 12 snapshot. Link.
